Obituary for Anna S. Newswanger

Anna S. Newswanger, 87, of 1890 Agape Ct., East Earl, died Thursday, October 13, 2016 at her home. She was preceded in death by her husband, Wayne Z. Newswanger in 2004.

Born in East Earl, she was the daughter of the late Daniel and Maggie (Shirk) Brubaker.

She was a homemaker and a member of the Churchtown Mennonite Church, Groffdale Conference.

Surviving are 10 children: Wilmer married to Edna (Hoover) Newswanger, Mohnton; Allen married to Sue Etta (Kilmer) Newswanger, East Earl; Susan Newswanger, at home; Ivan married to Susie (Martin) Newswanger, Goshen, IN; Ella married to Ivan Hurst, Jr., Latham, MO; Samuel married to Loretta (martin) Newswanger, Goshen, IN; Walter married to Elsie (Zeiset) Newswanger, Platteville, WI; Mervin married to Martha (Hurst) Newswanger, East Earl; Daniel married to Mabel (Martin) Newswanger, East Earl; Reuben married to Martha (Fox) Newswanger, Williamsburg, PA 49 grandchildren; 73 great-grandchildren; two sisters: Martha Martin, Morgantown and Mable Hursh, New Holland.

She was preceded in death by a daughter Laura Newswanger in 2011, five brothers, five sisters, one grandchild and two great-grandchildren.

Her funeral will be held on Wednesday, October 19, 2016 at 9 a.m. at her late home with further services at 9:30 a.m. at Churchtown Mennonite Church with Bishop Elam Zimmerman officiating. Interment will be in the adjoining church cemetery. A viewing will be held at her late home on Tuesday from 2-4 p.m. and from 6 – 8 p.m. Kindly omit flowers. The Eckenroth Home for Funerals, Terre Hill is in charge of arrangements.
