John W.  Uhlrich Sr.
John W. Uhlrich, Sr., 71 of East Earl, passed away at his residence on Tuesday, September 13, 2016 after a brief illness, surrounded by his family. He was the loving husband of Jeannette L. (Reed) Uhlrich, with whom he shared over 47 years of life and marriage.

Born in Lancaster, he was a son of the late Aaron C. and Grace E. (Lear) Uhlrich, Sr.

John worked for Penn Malleable Iron of Lancaster, Stiegel Castings of Manheim, and drove for both the Manheim Auto Auction and R. Hollenshead Auto Sales of Manheim. In his spare time he enjoyed fishing and spending time with his family.

In addition to his wife, John is survived by 3 children: John W. Uhlrich, Jr. of York, Nichole R. Thompson of East Earl, and Lechele M. McLasky of Lancaster; 2 step-sons: Charles D. Gebhard of Wisconsin and Scott L. Gebhard of Lancaster; 2 sisters: Elizabeth Haberstroh of Lancaster and Beverly M. Shock, wife of Jim, of Kentucky; 7 grandchildren, 2 great-grandchildren, and several step-grandchildren, step-great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.


John was preceded in death by his parents, his brother, Aaron C. Uhlrich, Jr., and his sister, Verna M. Uhlrich.

Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, September 17, 2016 at 4 PM at Groff High Funeral Home, 145 W. Main St., New Holland PA 17557. Viewing will be held from 3-4 PM on Saturday at the funeral home prior to services. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation in John’s honor to either the Ann B.
