Obituary for William A. Corfey

William A. Corfey, 87, of Garden Spot Village, passed away on June 23, 2016.
Born in Bridgeport, CT, he was the son of Edwin and Elizabeth (Liebscher) Corfey. He was the loving husband of Claire (Chambers) Corfey to whom he was married 63 years.
After serving four years in the U.S. Navy, during the Korean Conflict, he worked for Bell Telephone Company in Philadelphia for 36 years, retiring in 1991.
He enjoyed working in Garden Spot Villages train room, traveling, and spending time with his grandchildren.
Surviving in addition to his wife are two daughters, Joyce, married to Reed Smith, Jr. of Mölndal, Sweden, and Caryn, married to Mickial Young of Marysville, WA; five grandchildren, Reed W. Smith, III married to Courtney of Downingtown, Dianna C. Smith of Los Angeles, CA, Gregory W. Smith of West Grove, Bryan W. Young of Marysville, WA, and Thomas D. Young of Los Angeles, CA; a sister, Florence Gill of Massachusetts; and a brother Edwin Corfey of Connecticut.
Preceding him in death is a brother, Lawrence Corfey; and a sister, Ruth Gale.
A memorial service will be held on Monday, June 27 at 11 am at Garden Spot Village Chapel, 433 S. Kinzer Ave., New Holland, with the Reverend Doug Bozung and Chaplain Chet Yoder officiating. Interment will be at a later date at Christian Fellowship Cemetery. The family will receive guests at Garden Spot Village Chapel on Monday from 10-11 am.
