Mrs. Arlene Wetzel Amey, 76, of New Holland, passed away on Tuesday, December 29, 2015 at her home. She was the beloved wife of Gary R. Amey, with whom she shared 54 years of marriage.

Raised in Lavelle, PA, Arlene was the daughter of the late John and Lillie Wetzel.

Arlene earned her diploma as a Registered Nurse at Allentown Hospital in 1960. She was a nurse at LeTourneau University, Longview, TX for four years. Arlene retired from St. John’s Villa, Downingtown, PA. She was a long time resident of Marshallton, PA before she and her husband moved to Gardenspot in New Holland, PA.

Arlene enjoyed tennis, basketball, fishing and was an avid sports fan. She enjoyed spending time with her family.

She is survived, in addition to her husband, by her daughter Cheryl Amey Leiphart, wife of Steven, and son Kevin, husband of Cheryl; grandchildren: Erica Leiphart, Heather Leiphart, Ryan Amey and Sarah Amey. One brother Tom Wetzel and her sister Naomi Long. Five brothers preceded her in death: Marlin, Elmer, Roy, Paul and Harry.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, March 26, 2016 at Garden Spot Village Chapel, 433 S. Kinzer Ave., New Holland. Arrangements by Groff-High Funeral Home, New Holland.
