Obituary for Martha R. Nolt

Martha R. (Hoover) Nolt, age 85, of New Holland, formerly of Leola, passed away January 1, 2016 at her home.

She was born in Earl Twp. on August 28, 1930 to the late Norman and Mary (Reiff) Hoover and was the wife of the late Aaron H. Nolt who passed away in 2005.

A homemaker, she was a member of Groffdale Mennonite Church (Groffdale Conference).

Surviving are three sons: Raymond husband of Mary (Martin) Nolt, New Holland; Norman husband of Ruth (Rissler) Nolt, Leola; and Alvin husband of Alta (Zimmerman) Nolt, Williamsburg; 25 grandchildren; 57 great-grandchildren; four sisters: Frances Martin, East Earl; Esther (Marvin) Zimmerman, Denver; Mary (David) Zimmerman, East Earl; Alta (Paul) Zimmerman, Shippensburg; three brothers: Norman (Esther) Hoover, Leola; Harvey (Annie) Hoover, Ephrata; Paul (Vera) Hoover, Leola; a brother-in-law Ben Zimmerman, OH and a sister-in-law Esther Hoover, Ephrata.

She was preceded in death by four children: Mary, Elam, Ellen, and Martha Nolt; a great-grandchild; a sister Anna Zimmerman and brothers Aaron and John Hoover.

Her funeral will be held on Wednesday, January 6, at 8:45 a.m. at the home of Norman Nolt, 95 Locust St., Leola with further services at 9:30 a.m. at Groffdale Mennonite Church with Bishop Ammon Weaver officiating. Interment will be in the adjoining church cemetery. A viewing will be held at the Norman Nolt home on Tuesday from 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. Kindly omit flowers. The Groff-High Funeral Home, New Holland is in charge of arrangements.
