Barbara Evelyn  Jacobs (Rose)
Barbara Evelyn Jacobs, 84, of Narvon, formerly of Douglasville and Red Bank, NJ, died peacefully Saturday, December 19, 2015 at Zerbe Sisters in Narvon.

Born in Red Bank, NJ, she was the daughter of the late Elton E. and Ruth Catherine (Soden) Rose. Her husband, Rodney Jacobs, died Nov. 7, 2007.

Barbara graduated with an associate’s degree from Penn State and later worked for Philco and ICI until her retirement in 1998.

She was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Pottstown and enjoyed traveling, writing poetry, old movies, and animals, especially her Pomeranian dog, “Brandy.”

Surviving are three sons, David K. Jacobs of Pottstown, Daniel M., married to Tammy Jacobs of Narvon, and Mark R., married to Donna Jacobs of Pottstown; six grandchildren; and seven great grandchildren.

Preceding her in death is a son, Rodney G. Jacobs, Jr.; a sister, Helen Rose; and a brother, Richard Rose.

A memorial service will be held on Tuesday, December 22 at 1 pm at the Groff-High Funeral Home, 145 W. Main St., New Holland. The family will receive friends from Noon until the time of the service. Interment will be at a later date in the Mt. Zion Cemetery in Pottstown.
