Obituary for Martha Z. Zimmerman (Zimmerman)
Martha Z. Zimmerman, 91, of Ephrata, died Tuesday, May 19, 2015, at her home after a lengthy illness.
Born in East Earl Twp., she was the daughter of the late Eli and Christiana (Zimmerman) Zimmerman. Her husband, Paul M. Zimmerman, died Feb. 21, 1968.
Martha was a homemaker and a member of the Martindale Mennonite Church, Weaverland Conference.
Surviving are 7 children, Florence, married to Elmer M. Martin of Lebanon, Raymond G., married to Esther Mae (Martin) Zimmerman of Ephrata, Grace, married to Clarence Sensenig of Apple Creek, OH, Rachel, married to Luke M. Martin of Potsdam, NY, Luke R., married to Anna (Zeiset) Zimmerman of Ephrata, Mabel, married to Joseph Horning of Myerstown, and Ellen Hoover (widow of David) of Waterloo, NY; 58 grandchildren; 191 great grandchildren; 5 great-great grandchildren; a brother, Paul Z. Zimmerman of Myerstown; and a sister-in-law, Esther Zimmerman of Lebanon.
Preceding her in death is a daughter, Martha Jane Zimmerman; 3 grandsons; 4 great grandchildren; 4 brothers, Ivan, Harry, John Adin, and Elmer Zimmerman; and a sister, Anna Mary Redcay.
Funeral services will be held on Monday, May 25 at 9 AM at the Martindale Mennonite Fellowship Center, 352 Martindale Road, Ephrata with further services at 9:30 AM at the Martindale Mennonite Church with the Bishop Amos G. Martin, Ivan B. Hurst, Paul B. Hurst, Jr., and Eric Hoover officiating. Interment will be in the adjoining cemetery. Viewing will be held on Sunday from 2-4 and 6-8 at the Martindale Fellowship Center, address above. Kindly omit flowers. Arrangements by Eckenroth Home for Funerals, Terre Hill.
