The Memorial Candle Program has been designed to help offset the costs associated with the hosting this Tribute Website in perpetuity. Through the lighting of a memorial candle, your thoughtful gesture will be recorded in the Book of Memories and the proceeds will go directly towards helping ensure that the family and friends of Bernadette Johnson can continue to memorialize, re-visit, interact with each other and enhance this tribute for future generations.

Thank you.

Condolence From: Ellen Finger
Condolence: Michael and family, I will be thinking about you today. I'm glad the sun will be shining when you lay your mom to rest. If there is one thing I'll remember about her as a teacher and as a friend's mom, it's that she was just so freakin' cool. God bless. XOXO

Condolence: I was so saddened to hear about the passing of a very dear friend, Bernie Johnson. I will always remember the long talks we had and the much appreciated support she always extended when I ran for office. She was truly one in a million.

Just knowing Bernie made me feel like a winner. Please extend my condolences to all in her family. She will be truly missed.

Condolence: I first met Bernie when she subbed at PVIS. Later I would meet her walking down Runway Ave. with her dog (sometimes it was the dog walking her!). She also helped keep my mother and I up on the democratic politics and helped mom get an absentee ballot when she needed one. She had such a bubbly personality and I'm sure will be greatly missed by her family and friends. Please accept our sincerest sympathies.

Condolence: Mike,
Please accept my condolence during this difficult time. I always thought your mom was a class act. I don't recall ever sleeping through a CCD class when she was the teacher. I still remember fondly that time she took us to Pizza Hut. Sincerely, Bert L. Baker

Condolence: Bernie was a dear friend during our high school years. We didn't share the same class but our good times were weekends. I often spent many Friday nights at her home and with her sisters before National Forensics on Saturday mornings. Her parents were so warm and welcoming. I met her husband Bob a few years ago when they invited a few of our classmates to spend a weekend. Bob delighted in making lasagne from scratch and we were most appreciative of their hospitality. We wanted to plan another girls weekend but that was when Bernie got the bad news about her cancer. We all rallied with support, prayers and in lighting candles for both her and Bob as he wasn't well either. We will miss you, Bernie, and we cherish the memories. Our sincere sympathy to Bob, your children and grandchildren and to Gloria, Becky and Eugene who must go on without you. Heaven has a new angel. Rest in peace.
