Obituary for James H. Palmer

James H. Palmer, 89, of 433 S. Kinzer Ave., New Holland, formerly of Coatesville, died Friday, March 13, 2015 at Garden Spot Village. His wife, Anna Martha “Marty” (Forbes) Palmer, survives. They were married for 64 years on December 2.

Born in Coatesville, he was the son of the late W. Parke and Elsie M. (Holland) Palmer.

James had been employed in the processing department at Lukens Steel.

He had served in the Navy during World War II, receiving the Pacific Theater Ribbon, the American Theater Ribbon and the Philippine Liberation Ribbon.

He was a 75 year member of Olivet United Methodist Church, Coatesville.

A graveside service will be held on Wednesday, March 18, 2015 at 2 p.m. at Fairview Cemetery, Coatesville with Chaplain Chet Yoder officiating. The Groff-High Funeral Home, New Holland is in charge of arrangements. Online condolences may be posted at www.groffeckenroth.com.
