Marie W. "Laura"  Verville (Witman)
Marie W. Verville, 90, of Main St., Morgantown, PA, died late Thursday, Jan. 15, 2015, at her home under the care of Compassionate Care Hospice. She was preceded in death by her husband Arthur R. Verville in 2005.
Born in Churchtown, she was the daughter of the late Walter A. and Edna (Glass) Witman.
Marie was a graduate of Albright College in 1946, and received a Master’s Degree from Millersville in 1976. She was an elementary education teacher in the Twin Valley School District for 23 years.
She was a member of Robeson Evang. Lutheran Church where she had been in the Bell Choir. She was a charter member and former president of The Lioness Club of Elverson and Morgantown, a member of Elverson and Morgantown Lions Club, and former member and president of Morgantown Women’s Club and a member of Elverson Garden Club as well as a 4H Club leader. She enjoyed gardening and cats.
She is survived by her nephews David F., married to Cara Witman, of Hopewell Junctin, NY, and William W., married to Catherine Witman of Morgantown, PA, five great nieces and nephews, and 11 great great nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her twin brother Frank G. Witman.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend a funeral service at Robeson Lutheran Church, 3520 Plow Road, Mohnton, with the Rev. Michael Ware and the Rev. Lester Groves officiating. Interment will be in the Caernarvon Cemetery, Morgantown. A time of viewing will be held from 9 – 11 a.m.Thursday at the Church. If desired, memorial contributions may be made to the Animal Rescue League, 58 Kennel Road, Birdsboro, PA 19508. Arrangements are with Groff-High Funeral Home, New Holland.
