Obituary for Fannie Y. Yoder

Fannie Y.  Yoder
Fannie Y. Yoder, 88, of 668 Bulltown Rd., Elverson, died Monday, April 22, 2013 at Garden Spot Village after a courageous battle with bone cancer. She was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas S. Yoder on January 31, 2012.

Born in Morgantown, she was the daughter of the late Jacob E. and Rebecca (Mast) Kurtz.

A devoted and dearly loved mother and grandmother, she was a homemaker who helped and supported her husband and family on their farm. She was an active member of the Zion Mennonite Church, Birdsboro.

Fannie will be remembered as one who enjoyed gardening and nature, living her life to honor her Creator. She was appreciative of her caregivers at Garden Spot Village and the way they helped to bring joy and comfort to her.

Surviving are four children: Linda married to Glen Hostetler, Edmonton, Alberta, Canada; Anna Lucille (Lucy) married to Glenn Weber, Mohnton; Douglas T. Yoder, Elverson; and Loretta married to George Ostojic, Montreal, Quebec, Canada; five grandchildren; 10 great grandchildren; and four siblings: Susanna Umble, Atglen; Stephen Kurtz, New Holland; Linda Bush, Elverson; and Martha Stoltzfus, Townville.

In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by a daughter, Rose L. Yoder, in 1998 and three siblings: Anna Lois Umble, Ida Glick, and Omar A. Kurtz.

Her funeral will be held on Saturday, April 27 at 10 a.m. at Zion Mennonite Church, 582 Zion Rd., Birdsboro. Interment will be in the adjoining church cemetery. A viewing will be held on Friday from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Eckenroth Home for Funerals, 209 E. Main St., Terre Hill and at the church on Saturday from 9 to 10 a.m. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Bridge of Hope, 311 National Rd., Exton, PA 19341.
